Services >> Egress Windows
Every bedroom in your house should have an egress window. Egress windows provide that extra level of protection for your family and yourself during an emergency. Having a second story window that is large enough for family members to exit during a fire or other emergency can truly be a life saver. That same window can provide easy entry for First Responders. Likewise, basement windows should be retrofited to provide the code required clearances for emergency egress.
Sizing and placing an egress window entails several issues. The window must be placed to allow for plumbing and/or electrical that might be in the wall. The size of the window is very important, allowing unobstructed entry to a fireman in full gear, might mean the difference between saving and losing a family member. And, of course, openings that allow family members to safely escape fire and other hazardous events are of primary importance.
